Deadly Descendant - Jenna Black *Genre* Urban Fantasy*Rating* 4.0*First Thoughts*Deadly Descendant is the second book in the Nikki Glass series and thankfully not the last one since I have already purchased Rogue Descendant and will be reading that book next! Yes, I am doing a back to back reading because I truly like knowing that I didn't forget anything in the previous book. Black does a fine job of summarizing what happened in Dark Descendant but still it's been nearly a year since I read that book, and in Nikki's world, it's only been 2 weeks since she found out she was a descendant of Artemis which she's still not used to or understands how to use her new abilities. I must say, however, that I still haven't completely forgiven Jamaal, like others have, for his part he played in stopping Nikki from helping her sister Steph out of a very, very bad situation. I know it's a hormonal thing, and that Nikki finds Jamaal irresistibly attractive and there is a steamy near sex scene between the two. Jamaal has way too many anger issues for me to handle at the moment. I would be walking away from him as fast as my little feet could take me. No, I don't want to see Nikki with Anderson either! Anderson has his own issues to deal with and Nikki is one of only two people who know Anderson's true identity which makes things tense between them at times.Speaking of having issues; Anderson's wife Emma is plum loco and bat shit crazy. I really want to see an end resolution between Nikki and Emma in the next book so that it doesn't drag on and on and on.More of my review shortly! Released: April 24th 2012 by Pocket
