Biting Bad - Chloe Neill *Genre* Urban Fantasy*Rating* 4.0*My Thoughts*"We made it to the front door before trouble found us again." MeritTrouble has a way of finding its way into Merit's life ever since she became an unwilling vampire 10 months ago, and the Sentinel of Cadogan House led by Ethan "Darth" Sullivan. What's interesting about Biting Bad is that yes we do have some danger straight ahead for the vampires of Cadagon, but we also have the fact that Ethan and Merit have been a couple and living peacefully together for the past 2 months. There's no drama or extraneous jealously between the couple even with Merit being a part of the Red Guard with Jonah as her partner. You are asking yourself, yes, but so what? So what is the fact that the romance is much more interesting this time around. Merit is no longer lashing out at Ethan for changing her into a vampire or blaming him for the fact that she lost her humanity. There isn't the constant threat that they will get into yet another heated argument that only leads to pain and suffering for everyone involved including the house vampires. It is much more interesting to have a united couple fighting together against the forces in Chicago that are trying to run them out of the city. Biting Bad isn't all about the romance between Ethan and Merit. There are underlying currents flowing through the City of Chicago that has people protesting, and rioting, and attacking vampires without provocation. If you are a fan of this series, and have read every book, you know that John McKetrick is a thorn in the side of Merit and Ethan's. You know that he isn't exactly timid when it comes to his absolute hatred of the supernatural community, and it won't surprise you to see what lengths he goes through in order to get his way. Biting Bad shows some remarkable improvement when it comes to Merit and Mallory Carmichael's relationship that took a severe hit after Mallory's experience with the dark side. I think this is a pro because Merit needs her friends around her especially with an Anti supernatural mayor and the GP still not leaving the Cadogan House alone. I also hope that Mallory and Catcher can finally move towards a similar situation that Ethan and Merit have.In my humble opinion, Biting Bad is one of the better books in the Chicagoland Vampires series. It takes you on a ride of discovery, mystery, challenges, and fight scenes that I absolutely loved. I can't wait until Wild Things releases in February 2014. Expected publication: August 6th 2013 by NAL Penguin - ARC received from NAL Penguin in lieu of my tour stop for Biting Bad.Check out more here http://gizmosreviews.blogspot.com/2013/08/chloe-neills-biting-bad-official-blog.html
