Echo - Alyson Noel *Genre* YA Paranormal*Rating* 3.0*Thoughts*Echo is the sequel to Fated in the Soul Seekers series and reintroduces readers to Daire, Dace, Xotichl, Cade, Lita, and Paloma to name the main cast. I'm not really sure what I think about this particular ending other than I was ready to scream my bloody head off. I mean, if you weren't awake while reading the first and middle parts of this book, you were by the time the ending came around. I'm sure I am not the only one who thought WTH, is this the end? How can Noel end a series like this? It was interesting to me when Noel decided to dual POV her story between Daire, and Dace. Daire has slowly come into her powers as a Soul Seeker: one who can navigate the worlds between the living and dead while Dace firmly believes that he has to do everything in his power to save Daire from the "prophecy." Each character has found a way to read the prophecy in their own ways which causes nothing but strife and headaches. Noel also decides that it is time to allow Daire and Dace to explore each other sexually. Cade, the villain of this series, has a few surprises up his sleeve as well and doesn't feel as though he has to worry about Daire's challenge to stopping his world domination or his ability to tear down the walls to Lowerworld, Middleworld, and Upperworld. Several new characters were added as well. They are Phyre and Axel. Can't really tell you who these characters are since Noel doesn't really explain them in much detail. I do know that Phyre once was smitten with Dace, while Axel does something interesting to help Dace in the end. NO spoilers!I have Mystic on hold at my library. That way, if the story doesn't impress me, I can always return it without losing any money!Published November 13th 2012 by St. Martin's Griffin
