Esprit de Corpse

Esprit de Corpse - Gina X. Grant *Genre* Adult Paranormal*Rating* 3.0*Thoughts*Esprit de Corpse is the sequel to Scythe Does Matter. New reaper Kirsty D'Arc must work with her partner Dante Alighieri in order to finally bring down, and capture her evil ex-boss Conrad, who has a few moves up his sleeves (like escaping from his prison cell) that leaves Kirsty looking like a complete newbie because she didn't listen to Dante about not touching his scythe. With Dante walking around like a peacock saying I told you so, it is up to Kirsty to use some imaginary scheming and not so by the book moves in order to put an end to Conrad's evil reign and in the process, saving her best friend's Shannon's soul.Esprit de Corpse is entirely focused on Kirsty, Dante, Shannon, and Conrad. There is still the off cut humor that readers of this series have expected from Grant since reading The Reluctant Reaper. There is a bit of tension, and in Kirsty's case, a bit of jealously and angst towards Dante because of the appearance of a former "friend" of Dante's. I'm left wondering if Esprit de Corpse is the last book in the series. It apparently ties up nearly every loose end since the release of The Reluctant Reaper so unless Grant has other misadventures, and comic relief already concocted, I hope she will let us know through her web page, or by commenting on our reviews! In the end, there is no getting around not reading this series in order. Even though Grant does a good job of tying the story together book by book, it's nice to get to know the secondary characters like Charon, Kali, Lucy Phurr, Sybil Serpent, Sue Sayer, & Claire Voyant.*Recvd via Edelweiss 06/20/2013* Expected publication: August 19th 2013 by Pocket Star
