Judgment Call: A Brady Novel of Suspense - J.A. Jance *Genre* Mystery, Suspense*Rating* 3.0*First Thoughts* For the first time since 2009, J A Jance returns to Bisbee, Arizona, and Cochise County Sheriff Joanna Brady with the release of Judgment Call. Sheriff Brady is put in a semi difficult position when her 15 year old daughter Jenny discovers the body of Bisbee H.S. Principal Debra Highsmith who was previously reported as being missing. As the story unfolds, Brady and her crew cover all the basics and discover that Highsmith had a few secrets of her own that she's been trying to keep from the public's eye. The killer is actually kept under wraps until deep into the storyline when another body is discovered at a charity event .In the end, Brady also discovers a link to her own father's murder, and ends up finding new information that leads to a shocking discovery and a revelation that has been 15 books in the making. This part of the book totally threw me off guard since I was expecting the book to be about Highsmith and Brady trying to figure out who killed her. After 3 years without a book in the series, Judgment Calls almost feels like a call to grace, and a way for JA Jance to thank her readers for almost 20 years of writing this series. We shall see.
