Day After - Emi Gayle *Genre* YA Paranormal*Rating* 4.0*First thoughts* Day After is the sequel to After Dark. This time around we get an in-depth look at Winn Thomas who has taken it upon himself to become MacKenzie's teacher so that she can make a informed choice of what she want's to be when she turns 19. Winn is a really interesting and amazing character who goes through great lengths in order to help MacKenzie so that she has a firm understanding of what she is choosing, even though he clearly wants her to choose to become Human so that he can stay with her. There are still a few secrets and obstacles standing in his way, including the fate of the 12 supernatural council members who are split on how to handle humans, and what role Mac will end up playing when all is said and done. I absolutely loved meeting Mac's mom Maya in the In-Between, as well as learning a thing or two about Win's adopted sister Zoe who has the ability to talk to the dead. I also loved Alina and Suze the only real supernatural that take a shining and liking towards Winn. Suze will definitely make you laugh more times than not. It was nice to see more of an interaction with Winn and his closest friends as well. At times, certain stories get caught up in the supernatural nuisances and leave the human world behind. I can't wait to get my hands on Darkest Day the final book in this trilogy since Gayle leaves us with a bunch of unanswered questions not the least of which is what will Winn's role be when all is said and done? Will Mac make the right choice or will she leave Win behind? Will Mac's mom play a key role in what happens next? Recv from JTP on 01/28/2013* Expected publication: May 6th 2013 by J.
