Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy - Ally Carter *Genre* Young Adult*Rating* 3.0*Thoughts*Cross My Heart And Hope To Spy is the second book in the Gallagher Girls series and picks up right asour intrepid wannabe spy, Cammie Morgan, is being questioned once again, about her relationship with Josh and whether or not she has any further intentions in seeming him. It's also the start of a new semester for Cammie and her friends Bex Baxter, Liz Sutton, and Macey McHenry. There are more that a few surprises in store for the Gallagher girls including the arrival of a secretive school for boys that makes things extremely interesting especially for Cammie. Are the boys really who they say they are? Are the girls being tested to see if they match up to the expectations the rest of the spy community seems to believe about them? I won't go into the fact that yes, Josh makes an appearance, or that the new male lead, Zach, may or may not be a total pain in the ass in my opinion and maybe hiding more than we will ever find out. I won't go into the fact that Cammie's mother Rachel is definitely keeping numerous secrets away from Cammie as well including the real story behind the fate of her own father who disappeared 4 years before. Let's just say that this novel reads as the ultimate challenge for he Gallagher girls to see if they are able to think quickly on their feet, while working with boys who they have not grown up with, or attended classes with until now.Cross My Heart is a well paced and short novel that barely forced me to stop and take a break for dinner, or other pertinent necessities. The end is once again predictable and not at all what I thought it was at the time I was reading it. Once again, Carter teases readers with possibilities only to then laugh in your face when you find it's something else entirely.Next up: Don't Judge a Girl by Her CoverPublished October 2nd 2007 by Disney-Hyperion
